How to Use Compoze
A short guide to files, organization, version history, and agent access.
Bring Your Work and Agents Together
Compoze gives you and your agents one shared workspace, with up to 100 files at no cost. Connect through MCP or a supported plugin, switch agents without starting over, and decide exactly what the agent can do.
Start with Your First File
Create a Markdown file for anything you want to keep, such as decisions, research, useful links, or preferences. Once you connect an agent, you can also allow it to create new files or update existing ones.
Group Related Files
Use groups for projects or clients, or simply to keep related files together. For example, place Market-Research.md in a Research group. Give each group a clear name and description to help you and your agents understand the file structure.
Tag Cross-Cutting Themes
Use tags to label related themes across different groups. For example, add an Instructions tag to files that explain how an agent should work. You can add a description to each tag to provide more context.
Save Important Versions
Edits appear live as you work. Select Save when you want to create a named version of the current file. You can review it in History and restore any of the five most recent saved versions if needed.
Connect the Agent You Want
In the Agents tab (), choose the access level for each agent you connect. The three permission levels are shown here. After you sign in and approve the connection, the agent can work with the same files as you, within the access level you selected.
Explore the Possibilities
Get help from your agent. When starting something new, ask an agent to create the first draft, or add an inline agent instruction for a smaller change. An agent can use the files it is allowed to read as context for its work.
Give context to your agent. Use files to provide background information or instructions for how an agent should work in different situations. Connect those files to different agents to provide consistent context across platforms, and save important versions as you work.
